What's the main differences between Essentials and Premium?

Essentials is designed for consultants who want to manage their own accounts using Pulse.

You can purchase specific add-ons to enhance your service, such as including additional self employment, MTD Service or Tax Return Submission through Pulse.

Our Premium package is fully managed – our team handles most of the administration for you in preparing your tax return, includes all optional add-on modules and priority support.

Can I add modules at a later time?

Absolutely! That’s the beauty of modular packages.

Add modules anytime through your member portal as your needs change.

Is Pulse included in Essentials?

Yes! Pulse is our next-generation accounting system and is included with Essentials Core and all our packages.

Do I need to pay extra to use the mobile app?

No – our mobile app for iPhone and Android is included in every package at no additional cost. You can log expenses, snap a receipt, track your mileage and check your estimated tax from your phone, and on selected packages submit your quarterly Making Tax Digital returns too.

If you’d rather work on a tablet, simply sign in to Pulse through your tablet’s browser. You’ll get the full system rather than a cut-down app – including shop sales syncing, weekly account uploads, advanced reporting, VAT returns and tax return filing.

I need to submit quarterly MTD returns to HMRC

Simply add the MTD Service module – this covers all four quarterly submissions required by HMRC.

For Premium and managed packages, MTD Service is included at no additional charge.

Do I need to buy separate modules each year?

Yes, modules are purchased per financial year to match your accounting period. You can choose which modules you need each year based on your circumstances.

Can I pay in instalments / spread the cost?

Yes, you can use our Subscription Pricing to purchase only the months you need.

What if I start mid-year, or don't need a full year?

Our packages follow the HMRC Calendar Year which runs from 1 April to 31 March the following year.

You can use our Subscription Pricing to start or stop your package cover at any time.

Do prices include VAT?

Prices include VAT at the relevant standard rate.
