Every year we take time to review our pricing – so we can cover our overheads, stay competitive and keep giving you genuine value for money. That review is now done, and we’d rather tell you about it early than spring it on you.

From 1 January 2027, our prices are going up by an average of around 4%. That’s lower than last year, and we’ve held several prices completely on our higher packages, such as Essentials Complete, Premium and our VAT Service.

On other packages the increase works out at around 50p a month. To put that another way, our basic bookkeeping and accounts service Essentials Core works out at less than £3 per week.

You’ll find every new price, package by package, on our support site below.

We will of course monitor these changes, and if needed review at a later point – but usually this takes place in September each year.

If you’re already a member

If your subscription started before 1 January, nothing changes in January. You’ll carry on paying exactly what you pay today, right through to 1 April 2027, which is the start of the new package year. That gives you months of notice rather than days.

You’re also free to change package in the meantime. You can do this within your account, so if your circumstances change, or you decide you’d like your tax return submitted through Pulse, or Making Tax Digital brings you into scope, you can pick the package that suits you without waiting for renewal or having to contact us.

One thing to be aware of before you do: if you move to a different package before 1 January, you’ll stay on the current pricing. However if you move after 1 January, you’ll be on our new pricing rather than carrying our older price across. We’d rather say that plainly than have it come as a surprise. For most packages that’s a difference of less than £2 per month, and it’s usually better than sitting on a package that isn’t quite right for you until April. If you’re not sure, ask the support team and we’ll help you work out which one fits.

We know how much everyday costs have climbed lately, and that’s exactly why we’ve kept this modest and given you as much warning as we can.

Pulse goes from strength to strength, and we’re not stopping

Pulse launched last September, and it’s been a busy twelve months. All new features to our core accounting software has been added to all packages at no extra cost.

Receipt scanning means you can photograph a receipt and let Pulse do the typing. Recurring expenses now look after themselves. Your mileage is rated automatically at 55p a mile, split correctly between your Consultant and Team Developer work – or additional self employment.

On top of that there’s our new invoicing system, the document hub to keep things organised, and powerful on-demand reports to show your group profitability, estimated tax amounts and even a Universal Credit report built around your actual assessment periods.

Need to find something? No problem – there’s a search bar at the top of Pulse which covers the whole knowledge base and support articles in one go.

Our mobile apps for iPhone and Android have had a big year too, with quarterly MTD submissions now possible straight from your phone – and the app is currently used by 73% of users on a regular basis – some even use it nearly every day!

And to support everyone, behind the scenes we’ve grown our team as well. Support is a far bigger job than it used to be: we’ve answered more than 1,000 queries, emails and chats since February – this works to an average of around 181 every month. You’ll also find we’ve new people within in our customer-facing team, which means quicker replies, longer cover and more people who know your business properly rather than reading from a script.

What’s coming next?

The big one is Auto MTD, and it’ll be free on any package that includes the MTD Service. It handles your quarterly submissions for you, so four deadlines become none. You’ll still see your figures before anything goes anywhere, and your annual return will always need your approval, so you stay in the loop without ever being on the hook. It’s due before the end of this year, once HMRC have authorised our new submission process which is in the final stages.

We’ve also some enhancements still to come for Pulse, including redesigns of key ledgers, faster loading times for accessing your accounts – and preparation for new reports which Slimming World are currently working on launching for all consultants.

Of course, all of this costs money to build and to run, and this increase is what lets us keep doing it. With Making Tax Digital reaching even more consultants from April 2027, the next twelve months matter more than most, and we want to be in good shape to support you through it.

If you’ve any questions at all about the changes, please get in touch with the support team, we’re always happy to talk it through.

Best wishes for the months ahead,
