This weekend, we released Pulse v1.71 which is available to all members as part of their packages. This follows v1.70 which rolled out at the end of May. Below is an overview of the changes to the system, and new features

Making Tax Digital – Submit your return on our mobile app

We’ve enhanced our mobile app to allow submissions of quarterly Making Tax Digital (MTD) submissions direct to HMRC.

This means you can complete your accounts as normal through the month, and then when prompted, tap a few buttons and it’s submitted electronically to HMRC!

MTD Modules are available on selected packages, or can be added within your account

Amendments to submitted Tax Returns

If you submitted your return through Pulse and realise you need to make an amendment, this can now be done through the website.

Simply unlock your financial year (via the settings page) and make any required changes to your accounts. Once completed, head to the Tax Returns page, choose ‘Submit Amended Tax Return’ and follow the prompts.

Mileage Allowance Change

The Government recently announced a change to the mileage allowance rate for self employed individuals using simplified expenses

Pulse will now calculate the expenses for this based on the change from 1 April 2026. Previous claims will be based on the old rate.

Additional Self Employment – Secure invoice links

You can automatically send emails with your invoices from the self employment module and until recently the invoice was ‘attached’ to the email.

We’ve now made changes to the email content and added a clear link for the recipient to view/download their invoice to make payment.

There’s also the function to customise your invoices by adding frequently used items (such as payment information) to each generated document – these can be managed within your settings page.

Security and background updates

This version also includes a range of security updates and maintenance to make the system more efficient and faster to use.
